$1M Powerball Win Hits Lindenhurst Convenience Store
One of two $1 million Powerball second-prize tickets sold statewide for the Dec. 22 drawing was purchased at a Lindenhurst business.
LINDENHURST, NY — A $1 million Powerball ticket was sold in Lindenhurst for the Dec. 22 drawing, according to the New York Lottery.
Lottery officials said two second-prize Powerball tickets were sold statewide in the drawing, each worth $1 million.
One of the tickets was purchased at Montauk Highway Gas Corp, located at 571 W. Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst. The other winning ticket was sold at Smiley’s Stop and Shop, located at 17 W. Main St. in Sidney, lottery officials said.

Powerball numbers are drawn from a field of 1 to 69, with the red Powerball drawn separately from a field of 1 to 26. Drawings are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. for the Powerball.
The New York Lottery said it remains the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, contributing $3.6 billion during the 2024–25 fiscal year to support public schools across the state.
