Duo Tried To Pry Open ATM Inside Nassau Bank: Police

Police say the two damaged the machine, but didn't get any cash.

EAST MEADOW, NY — Nassau County police are looking for two men who tried to break into a bank's ATM early Monday morning.

Two men entered the Bank of America, located at 2443 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, at 1:30 a.m. Monday, police said. The men tried to pry open the ATM in the vestibule. They damaged the machine, police said, but didn't get any cash.

They fled on foot.

The men were wearing dark-colored jackets and pants, and face masks. Police provided no further description.

Anyone with information about this attempted larceny is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
