East Meadow Schools Celebrate Literacy

McVey and Parkway Elementary Schools recently held a "celebration of reading" event at Barnes & Noble in Carle Place as part of the Annual Parents As Reading Partners Program.

The event, sponsored by PTA members, included a scavenger hunt, a station where students could create their own bookmark and musical performances by the schools’ bands and orchestras.

Administrators and teachers were also given the opportunity to read their favorite books to students and the kids were allowed to browse for books at the bookstore.
