East Meadow Wrestling Champs Honored By Hempstead Town Officials

The students were recognized for their outstanding performance in the 2022 state wrestling championship.

EAST MEADOW, NY — Town of Hempstead officials honored W.T. Clarke High School Rams wrestlers Jordan Soriano, Justin Soriano and Jack Forte with citations on March 8 for their performance at the 2022 NYSPHSAA Wrestling Championships.

Jordan Soriano became the school’s first New York State wrestling champion, while Justin Soriano and Forte earned third-place honors at the state tournament on Feb. 26. Town Councilman Thomas Muscarella, Town Clerk Kate Murray and Town Receiver of Taxes Jeanine Driscoll also commended the Rams’ wrestling team for placing fifth overall in the tournament, which marks the highest finish in the school’s history.

“Life is about accomplishments, and I’m really amazed by what you guys achieved,” Muscarella said to the wrestling team. “It’s very important that you continue to pursue excellence and to keep the passion going.”
