Former Officer Who Arrested Willie Sutton to Appear at EMPL

Don Shea, the former New York City Police Officer who helped to catch bank robber Willie Sutton more than 50 years ago, will speak at East Meadow Public Library on Tuesday.

The event, "The Man Who Caught Willie Sutton," is a support program that will enhance the discussion of the 2013 LI READS book selection, "Sutton" by J.R. Moehringer.

Willie Sutton was an American bank robber who stole an estimated $2 million during his 40-year criminal career.

Shea will answer questions from the public at the event that will take place at 7 p.m.
