Golf Outing, National Night Out, Ladies of Disco This Week

Here's what's happening this week in East Meadow.

Golf Outing: A golf outing for the LI Gulls and the NY Bobcats is being held Monday at Eisenhower Park. These organizations will be under the Ferraro Brothers Ice Center Umbrella so they will have a presence in the rink once its built.

NC Legislative Meeting
: There will be a Nassau County Legislative Meeting at 1 p.m. Monday at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building located at 1550 Franklin Avenue in Mineola. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County invites the public to attend the meeting, where Nassau Coutny Extension personnel as well as concerned citizens are expected to express their opposition to the continued absence of Nassau County annual budget line item funding.

National Night Out: The 30th annual National Night Out kicks off at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Town Square, Veteran's Memorial Park in East Meadow. The event is intended to bring awareness to crime and drug prevention. Reservations are not necessary. The event will be held rain or shine.

EM Chamber Meeting: For more information about this year's Culinary Delights fundraiser, to be held Sept. 30 at the Carltun, all East Meadow Chamber of Commerce members are invited to attend a meeting Wednesday beginning at 8 a.m. at Apollo Diner (630 Merrick Avenue in East Meadow). The chamber is reaching out to its membership to become involved and help the committee in any way they can. If you are unable to attend the meeting but would still like to become involved, contact Adrian Campodonico (458-4241 or villacampi@optonline.net) or Will Miranda (581-2232 or william@madisonpierce.com).

Ladies of Disco
: Ladies of Disco featuring the Sugar Hill Gang, Maxine Nightingale and Alisha and Lime will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Eisenhower Park’s Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in East Meadow.  The concert will be honoring The Red Hats. Admission is free.
