Long Island Weather: Thunderstorms Knock Out Power To 900
BREAKING: Heavy rainfall and dangerous lightning are occurring. More than 800 without power on Long Island. When will the rain end?

Thunderstorms moving across Long Island Thursday morning have knocked out power to nearly 900 PSEG customers and the National Weather Service is warning of potential flash flooding. A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the region.
Heavy rainfall and dangerous lightning are occurring. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue to lash the island through the afternoon before tapering off in the evening.
There is "certainly some potential for a few thunderstorms to be strong with a marginal risk for severe weather across much of the region for local damaging winds," the NWS said in a forecast discussion. There is a slight risk of flash flooding.
