Nassau Man Caught Breaking Into Construction Site: Police
Police say the man broke a window to get into a building under construction, but was caught by the owner.
WESTBURY, NY — A Nassau County man was arrested early Wednesday morning in connection with a burglary at a construction site.
According to police, Elidieu Cadet, 38, of Uniondale, broke a window to gain entry to a commercial building under construction on Post Avenue in Westbury early Wednesday morning.
The owner of the building passed by, and police say he saw the broken window and entered the building. Police say he saw Cadet holding a saw blade in his hand. The man left the scene and called police.

Police say they found Cadet inside when they arrived and arrested him without incident at 7:39 a.m.
Cadet is charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing. He is scheduled to be arraigned later today in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police say Cadet had been arrested on Oct. 2 and charged with second-degree attempted burglary and criminal mischief. He was arraigned on Oct. 3 and released on his own recognizance.
