Nassau Police ID Victim, Perpetrator Of Murder/Suicide
Police say a 31-year-old man killed a 28-year-old woman, and then himself.
UNIONDALE, NY — Nassau County police have officially classified an incident last week as a murder/suicide, and identified the two people involved.
According to police, officers responded to a home on Laclede Avenue in Uniondale at 7:59 a.m. on Dec. 15 for a call of shots fired. When they arrived, they found a 28-year-old woman lying in the street with gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
An investigation led police to Greenfield Cemetery, at 650 Nassau Road in Uniondale, which was about two miles from where the first shooting occurred. At the cemetery, police found a 31-year-old man who had shot himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have identified the woman as Nikeka Chanette Poe, of Uniondale. The man has been identified as Thomas R. Priester, of West Babylon.
