Nearby: Two Charged With Reckless Endangerment

The two were arrested after police responded to multiple shots fired on Cornwell Avenue.

Two men were arrested for reckless endangerment that occurred in Uniondale on Tuesday, police said.

According to authorities, police responded to a call for multiple shots fired at 896 Cornwell Ave. in Uniondale. Upon arrival, a witness provided police with a description of two suspects and 9 mm shell casings were found on the scene.

The suspects, Antonio A. Bennett, 23, and Daniel Desbas, 25, were located walking on Davis Avenue in Uniondale. Both men were taken into custody without incident. A loaded 9mm handgun was also recovered in Bennett‘s possession, police said.

Bennett is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree reckless endangerment. Desbas was charged with second-degree criminal use of a firearm, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Both men will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.
