NUMC Physician Awarded for Work in Haiti

Gilberte Rosarion won the All Stars Project's Phyllis Hyman Phat Friend Award.

Gilberte Rosarion, a physician at the Nassau University Medical Center, recently received the All Stars Project's Phyllis Hyman Phat Friend Award for her work in Haiti.

Rosarion is the president of Eye of a Dream, Inc., an organization that assists children in Haiti to obtain an education.

The Phyllis Hyman Phat Friends Award, named after jazz singer Phyllis Hyman, awards people who are making a meaningful difference in their communities.

The All Stars Project Award Ceremony was hosted by Roscoe Orman, who played Gordon on "Sesame Street" for 36 years.

Founded in 1981, All Stars Project Inc. is an organization dedicated to promoting human development through the use of an innovative performance-based model. The organization creates outside of school, educational and performing arts activities for thousands of needy young people.
