Search Ongoing For Missing 14-Year-Old Girl: Police
The girl was reported missing Friday just before 1 p.m., police say.

ELMONT, NY. — Nassau County police said a 14-year-old girl from Elmont was still missing as of Monday morning after last being seen the afternoon of Christmas day.
Public information officers said Monday that 14-year-old Johari Escobar Chavez was still missing, after being reported as such Friday afternoon. Chavez was last seen leaving her Elmont home on foot, police said. Police described her as a Hispanic girl standing 5-feet, 1-inch, weighing 170 lbs with long dark hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, red pajama pants and black Crocs, police said. Her destination was unknown, police said.
Police said that anyone with information about Chavez’s whereabouts can contact the missing persons squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911.
