• Nassau violates ICE agreement, detaining hundreds longer than legal limit, data shows (newsday.com) — East Meadow’s Nassau County jail is holding hundreds of ICE detainees longer than the 72-hour legal limit, according to a Newsday data analysis. Most of those detained in East Meadow have no criminal record, raising legal and civil rights concerns as Nassau receives federal reimbursements for housing immigrants under its agreement with ICE.
