Police ID Inmate Who Died At Nassau Jail

EAST MEADOW, NY —Nassau County police have identified the inmate at the county jail who died on Wednesday.

Ray Digiacomo, 45, of Bethpage, was found unresponsive in his cell by a correction officer at the Nassau County Correctional Facility at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m.

This is the second inmate to die in the jail in the last few months. In November, 29-year-old Nikita Pertsev died in his cell after suffering an apparent drug overdose.
