Woodmere Home Deemed Unlivable After Kia Careens Into House With Family Inside: Police
Town of Hempstead officials declared the home unlivable after the Thursday morning crash, police say.
WOODMERE, NY. — A family of four had their home declared unlivable Thursday after an 18-year-old man drove into it in a Kia just before 2 a.m., police said.
Nassau County police said the 18-year-old lost control while driving at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and East Broadway, striking the home while the four family members were in it. After the collision, multiple fire departments including the Woodmere Fire Department, Nassau County police emergency service unit and PSEG responded to the scene, police said.
None of the family members in the house were injured, police said. An investigation into the crash is ongoing and criminality is not suspected, police said.
