Water Lantern Festival Coming To Eisenhower Park This Weekend

You can get tickets now for the unique event, and send your own water lantern out onto the lake.

EAST MEADOW, NY — The Water Lantern Festival is coming to Eisenhower Park this weekend, and will be lighting up the lake there with hundreds of floating lanterns.

You can get tickets now to participate in the event on Sept. 10. Tickets are $26 for adults and $12 for kids 8-14. Kids under 8 are free, but don't get a lantern kit. Each ticket comes with a wristband for entry into the festival area with access to food trucks, one floating lantern kit, a marker, a drawstring bag and scavenger hunt giveaway entry.

“This Water Lantern Festival creates a beautiful and unique way to share your hopes, dreams and aspirations,” said Nate Sorensen, event director. “It’s a night that you will never forget.”

The gates to the event open at 4:30 p.m. There will be food trucks, music and fun events for people to enjoy. They will also be able to assemble and decorate their floating lanterns. Starting at 7:30 p.m., people can begin launching lanterns onto Salisbury Lake in Eisenhower Park. The event lasts until 9 p.m.

The ticket price also includes the cost to clean the lake after the event.
