Assemblyman Proposes Private School Background Check Law
Bill recently gained support by Harvey Weisenberg, but is stalled in the legislature.

The bill is sponsored by Brooklyn Assemblyman Dov Hikind. Last week, it earned the support of Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg, who represents the Five Towns.

Do you think a bill like this is long overdue? Or do you think it is overreaching — that private schools should not be told what to do with their hiring practices by the state?
