Man Burglarized Macy's In Nassau 7 Times: Police

The man was seen opening registers in the store and stealing its contents, police say.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Queens man was arrested in connection with seven burglaries at Macy's, located at 1000 Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, on Tuesday, Nassau police said.

Ramel Payne, 19, was inside Macy's around 7 a.m. — before business hours, police said. The man was seen forcibly opening multiple registers in the store and stealing the contents, police said. Payne left the building using a fire exit and was arrested, police said.

Payne was responsible for six additional burglaries at the same location, police said after an investigation.

Payne was charged with seven counts of third-degree burglary.

He is set to be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
