UPDATE: Pedestrian Fatally Struck By SUV In Nassau Identified: Police

HEWLETT, NY — A man, crossing a street in Hewlett, was struck and killed Wednesday night by an SUV, police said.

The 74-year-old victim has been identified as Jeffrey Frank, of Hewlett, police said.

Frank was walking on Broadway just after 10 p.m., authorities said.

The male driver exited the vehicle, dragged the victim to the side of the road and then fled in his SUV, witnesses told police.

The victim was rushed to a hospital where he died. Police are investigating.
