- Jerry Barmash reports that a teenager and an 82-year-old man were critically injured in a Nassau house fire. The home was on Marshall Street in Elmont and the Elmont Fire Department also rescued a 14-year-old girl from the second floor and a 75-year-old woman was saved from a window. (Patch)
- Erica Marcus checks out a new restaurant in Valley Stream serving Guyanese food. Flavor N’ Spice opened this summer on Dutch Broadway in Valley Stream. (Subscription:Newsday)
- David Olson covers a rally for abortion rights that saw about 300 people come to the Nassau County Courthouse in Mineola. The rally was one of several across Long Island and the country on Saturday. (Subscription: Newsday)
- Bloomberg remembers Tobias Levkovich, who was the chief U.S. equity strategist at Citigroup Inc. He died from injuries he suffered on Sept. 1 when he was struck by a car while crossing a road in Woodmere at age 60. (Bloomberg)
- The Daily Voice writes that 32-year-old Jose Urquia Dominguez of Roosevelt, was charged after police said he drove a vehicle while drunk with a 2-year-old passenger in the back seat.
