AUBURNDALE, QUEENS — The mother of two Auburndale toddlers — one of whom was found dead and the other critically injured on Wednesday night — has been taken into custody, the NYPD said. Cops found 1-year-old Elaina Torabi unconscious in her Ashby Avenue home after getting a 911 call around 9:50 p.m., police said.

Both Elaina and her 1-year-old brother had severe trauma to their bodies, the NYPD said. The girl was taken to Flushing Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The boy was brought to Cohen Children's Medical Center, where he was still in critical condition Thursday morning, police said.
