Pickpockets Steal $600 From Woman In Flushing Market: NYPD

One of the men slid the 66-year-old woman's wallet from her purse as the other blocked him from view, police say.

FLUSHING, QUEENS -- A grocery run ended up costing a 66-year-old woman about $600 more than she bargained for after two thieves swiped her wallet while she browsed a Flushing supermarket, police said.

The woman was shopping inside a J-Mart on Roosevelt Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. on March 28 when the two pickpockets worked together to steal her wallet, cops said. One swiping it from her purse while the other used his jacket to block him from view.

The men fled with the woman's wallet in an unknown direction, making off with the $600 cash and several credit cards inside it, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance footage of the men on Thursday evening. Both were last seen wearing black baseball caps and jackets, while one was also seen wearing glasses.
