10-Day Festival Of Cinema Kicks Off In Forest Hills

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — The Festival of Cinema in Forest Hills kicks off 10 days of film screenings Friday.

The third annual Festival of Cinema starts Aug. 2 with the East Coast premiere of Camilo Vila's "5th of July," starring Jaleel White.

The festival schedule includes screenings of 125 films from 40 countries as well as Q&As with film directors and an indie film contest.

Among the countries represented in this year's festival are the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Italy, South Africa and Turkey, according to organizers.

The East Coast premiere of director Santiago Rizzo's "Quest" closes the festival on Aug. 10.

Screenings take place at the Regal UA Midway in Forest Hills.
