Cop's Son Shot By Teen Outside Queens High School: Police, Reports
A 17-year-old was shot outside Maspeth High School and a 15-year-old now faces an attempted murder charge, according to police and reports.

QUEENS, NY — A cop's teenaged son was shot by another teenager outside a Queens high school Wednesday, according to police and reports.
The 17-year-old was shot in the arm by a 15-year-old outside Maspeth High School at 54-40 74th Street about 1:40 p.m., police said.
The victim — reportedly the son of an NYPD officer and possibly not the intended target — was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, said police.

Police questioned two people before arresting the 15-year-old on charges of attempted murder, criminal weapon possession and reckless endangerment, the NYPD said
Both teens are Maspeth High School students, sources told the NY Daily News.

Maspeth High School was locked down for about an hour in the wake of the shooting, the NYPD School Safety unit tweeted.
Suki Velez, a parent at Maspeth High School, told PIX11 the shooting left her feeling out of control.
"It’s really a shame that in this day and age we have to tell our kids ‘this is how you have to be in school when something like this happen,'" she said. "I can’t do nothing. I’m absolutely helpless."
