2 Cars Burst Into Flames Near Flushing Meadows Corona Park, FDNY Says

QUEENS, NY — Two cars burst into flames on the edge of Kew Gardens Hills Tuesday afternoon, according to the FDNY.

At about 2:15 p.m., fire officials started getting calls that cars were on fire at Booth Memorial Avenue and College Point Boulevard near Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

Videos uploaded to Citizen, a safety alert app, at the time show plumes of thick black smoke emanating from the area and two cars ablaze.

Firefighters got the car fires extinguished by 4:15 p.m. and no one was injured in the process, the FDNY said.

Fire officials didn't respond to Patch's question as to the cause of the fire.
