29-Year-Old Man Killed In Forest Hills Hit-And-Run, Say Police

The Manhattan man was crossing the street when a driver slammed into him Sunday evening, police said.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A 29-year-old was struck and killed when a hit-and-run driver plowed into him in Forest Hills Sunday evening, police said.

Niklas Ahern, of Tribeca, was crossing Continental Avenue near Slocum Crescent just after 5:30 p.m. when a car speeding north on the same street careened into him, sending Ahern flying across the pavement, police said.

Ahern was rushed to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver did not stop and remains at large as of Monday morning. A police investigation is ongoing.
