According to police, Lowe’s employees tipped officers off to “suspicious transactions” involving several men that came into the store and allegedly purchased “a significant amount of store gift cards” using credit cards.

“The males all appeared to be coming out of the same minivan parked in the lot,” according to Capt. Joel Dolan of the Salem Police Department. “As officers were entering the parking lot, they observed a male running out of the store and into the waiting van. The van then attempted to leave the area and was stopped in the parking lot by responding officers.”

The officers learned that the five people in the minivan were allegedly making the transactions. They were able to locate the fraudulent credit cards with personal and financial information belonging to other individuals unknown to the suspects, he noted.

“The cards located by the officers were obviously bogus having the name of the suspects on the front, however the information contained on the magnetic strip belonged to other people and had most likely been skimmed from an unknown location,” Dolan said.

Jiang (top left), who lists herself on Facebook as a former student at Fort Hamilton High School in Forest Hills, Queens, was reportedly found with cocaine in her purse.

All five suspects were taken in to custody and are expected in Salem District Court for probable cause hearings on Feb. 8.
