QUEENS, NY — A Queens driver hurt six people after crashing into several cars Monday night, according to police and a report.

The 27-year-old driver was traveling down 121st Street near 101st Avenue in Richmond Hill about 10:15 p.m. when he crashed into a pair of unoccupied, parked cars, police said.

The force of the crash caused the driver's Chrysler 300 to flip over and rear-end a Jeep Wrangler stopped at a red light near the 101st Avenue intersection, according to the NYPD.

The Chrysler then went careening into the intersection where it hit the front of a Nissan Pathfinder, which was crossing 121st Street on 101st Avenue with a green light, police said.

Then on its roof, the Chrysler came to a stop at the southwest corner of the intersection.

First responders rushed to the intersection and found the 27-year-old Chrysler driver with severe head and body injuries, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital in "critical condition," the NYPD confirmed Tuesday.

The drivers and passengers of the Jeep Wrangler and Nissan Pathfinder — five other people in total, NY1 reported — were also hurt, but their injuries were less serious and they didn't have to be hospitalized, police said.

The NYPD's Highway Collision Investigation Squad is now investigating the crash, according to the NYPD.
