Armed Moped Riders Rob Forest Hills Woman Amid Violent Theft Spree: PD
The woman, whose belongings were stolen at knifepoint, was the first person the duo targeted in a series of violent robberies, police said.
QUEENS, NY — A moped riding duo robbed a young woman at knifepoint in Forest Hills last week as part of their day of violent theft in Queens, police announced this weekend.
The woman, 21, was on Kessel Street near Yellowstone Boulevard about 10:55 a.m. July 6 when the duo drove up next to her, according to the NYPD.
One man hopped off the moped, pulling out a knife and snatching her cell phone, debit card and ID before zooming off, officials said.

The woman, who police said wasn't hurt during the theft, was the first person the moped riders targeted in a series of violent robberies Wednesday morning, according to officials.
About 15 minutes later, in Middle Village, the moped riders stole a gold chain off an 86-year-old man's neck and shoved him to the ground, according to the NYPD. The elderly man asked for medical help after the robbery, officials said.

Then, about 11:30 a.m. near Citi Field, the moped riders — this time a group of six — struck again, stealing a 48-year-old man's gold chain at gunpoint, according to police. He wasn't hurt during the robbery, officials said.
Police released photos of two suspects — and a video of one of the incidents — on July 10 and asked anyone with information contact the NYPD.
