Austin Public is a self-described “hot spot,” nestled in the intersection of Austin Street and 70th Road. The gastropub offers 24 beers on tap and an all-day Tuesday happy hour with daily lunch and dinner specials.
The place’s Facebook page boasts a “great selection” of craft beers, wine by the glass (and bottle), cocktails and food that locals will want to come back to for a second — or third — try.
The Grill
Address: 107-12 70th Rd.
The Grill is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar located just off the bustling strip of Austin Street. One reader lauded the eatery for its half-priced drinks and appetizers during happy hour, specials afforded to diners seven days a week from 2 to 7 p.m. Locals can get drinks for $5, tapas for $6 and oysters for $1.

Exo Cafe’s website boasts a whopping eight televisions amid “three floors of fun.” The Austin Street bar and grill offers happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and promises it’s the best in NYC. Happy hour provides half-off appetizers, $4 wine, $5 beer and $6 signature cocktails. One reader recommended Exo’s chimichurri sandwich with a side of fries as a complement to any drink.
Mito Asian Fusion

Yelp reviews praise Mito, located between 64th Road and 108th Street, for its Saturday-night happy hour specials. One Forest Hills readers highlighted the Japanese sushi bar’s $4 sushi rolls, namely the spicy tuna and chicken tempura, as well as the $3 beers on tap, some of which include Guinness, Blue Moon and Stella Artois.
Millers Ale House (Rego Park)
Address: 61-35 Junction Blvd.
Rego Park isn’t Forest Hills, but the former is a common destination for Forest Hills residents, who border the smaller neighborhood on the east and south fronts. Happy hour at Miller’s is served Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. and on late nights Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. until closing time.
