When a resident asked about the best sandwich shop in Forest Hills, neighbors flocked to Facebook to discuss BLTs and veggie wraps alike.
FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — This week, a Forest Hills resident posed a simple questions to other neighbors: what is the best local sandwich shop?
Residents flocked to Facebook to advocate on behalf of their favorite neighborhood sandwich joints, but one reigned supreme among the nearly 70 comments: Stacked Sandwich Shop.
Borne out of the pandemic, the sandwich shop opened its doors on Austin Street last year, when Declan Morrison (of Austin Public) and his wife, Natasha, were looking for work to do during lockdown.

The duo began experimenting with sandwiches, many of which they delivered to first responders, and about a year after lockdown decided to turn their endeavor into a full blown business.
While some neighbors said that Stacked was expensive — the sandwiches range from about $10 to $14 depending on the fillings (meat tends to be pricier than the vegetarian and vegan options) — others contended that you get what you pay for.

"Price? It's about value," wrote one person, who said that the sandwiches are the best in the neighborhood, especially in terms of quality.
Stacked got the most mentions on the thread, with ten neighbors deeming it the best sandwich shop in Forest Hills.
Some other local places that were mentioned several times include Mr Vino's Cucina, Metro Meat Market, and Cipollina Gourmet.
