Carjacker Who Attacked Rego Park Valet Worker Arrested: NYPD

A Brooklyn man was arrested nearly two weeks after he was allegedly caught on tape stealing the car and pistol whipping a valet worker.

REGO PARK, QUEENS -- A 21-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested on Wednesday evening for stealing a car from a Rego Park garage and pistol whipping a valet worker who tried to stop him, police said.

Judah Pilgrim, of East Flatbush, was arrested nearly two weeks after he was allegedly caught on tape pulling a gun on a 59-year-old valet worker who refused to give him a set of keys in the parking garage at 92-77 Queens Blvd. on June 30.

Video surveillance shows the worker attempt to flee into a stairwell, where Pilgrim followed him and hit him with the handgun, police said. He is shown briefly pointing the gun at the worker's head while trying to drag him back into the garage.

He then allegedly ran back into the garage, hopped into a four-door Kia Sportage with keys already inside and sped away. Medics later arrived to treat the valet worker for gashes to his head.

Pilgrim was charged with robbery, grand larceny and unauthorized use of a vehicle. He is slated to appear in Queens Criminal Court on July 24.
