Cleaning Company, Forest Hills CEO To Pay Unpaid Wages To Workers: DA
Cleaning company MPStar Pros pleaded guilty after failing to pay workers between 2020 and 2022.
FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A housecleaning company will pay more than $50,000 in unpaid wages to cleaners that worked at the height of the pandemic, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said Thursday.
Christian Perez, CEO of the cleaning company MPStar Pros, pleaded guilty after failing to pay workers between 2020 and 2022 after hiring them to clean apartments for several clients, prosecutors said.
The company pleaded guilty to defrauding 23 employees, withholding over $54,000 in stolen wages, Katz said.

Perez, a 37-year-old from Forest Hills, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, and his company will have to pay an additional $10,000 if additional cleaners involved in the scheme are identified, the district attorney said.
MPStar Pros recruited cleaners through Facebook, Craigslist, and other websites to clean residential apartments, prosecutors said.

After the workers finished a job, the company did not pay them their wages, Katz said.
