Crime Drops 16 Percent in 112th Precinct in May
The number of incidents fell in three of the seven major crime categories.

Crime dropped 16 percent in the 112th Precinct in May with decreases in three of the seven major crime categories.
According to police statistics, overall crime is down two percent in the precinct, which covers Forest Hills and Rego Park.
There were no murders or rapes during the past month in the 112th Precinct. There were seven felony assaults in May, which was the exact same number reported during the same period of time last year.
The number of burglaries dropped 33 percent with six incidents reported as opposed to nine incidents during May 2012.
The number of grand larceny incidents fell from 48 incidents in May 2012 to 40 during the same period of time this year.
And the number of grand larceny auto incidents dropped from eight in May 2012 to two this past month.
However, the number of robberies rose from nine incidents in May 2012 to 13 during the past month.
