FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — An explosion in Forest Hills sent one person to the hospital on Monday afternoon, fire officials said.

Medics rushed to a house on the corner of 67th Avenue and Burns Street at about 1:20 p.m. after "some fuel in the basement exploded," an FDNY official told Patch over the phone.

An ambulance transported one patient to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital, said fire officials, who could not specify the person's condition or any injuries that they sustained.

A police official told Patch over the phone that the incident "doesn't look catastrophic," and that based on preliminary information the explosion "might be something to do with a boiler."

The explosion occurred at a two-story row house located on the border of Forest Hills and Rego Park.
