A Carvel ice cream shop on Metropolitan Avenue is temporarily closed due to permit issues.
The store, located at 103-21 Metropolitan Ave. in Forest Hills, currently has a sign in its window that reads, "We are working on our permit issues. We will resume operation as soon as possible. We are sorry for any inconveniences."
A notice on the door from the city's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene says that the site had been closed for operating without a permit.
