Forest Hills Council Member Receives Endorsement From AG James

Lynn Schulman is seeking re-election in the 29th Council District, which encompasses Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Rego Park, and other areas.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — New York State Attorney General Letitia James announced her endorsement for Council Member Lynn Schulman on Wednesday in the run-up to the primary elections in June.

Schulman is seeking re-election in the 29th Council District, which encompasses Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Rego Park, and other areas. The primary election will take place on June 27, where New Yorkers will nominate candidates to occupy city council seats.

“Women’s rights are in the crosshairs," said Attorney General Letitia James. "We urgently need fighters in elected office who will center our rights and actively work to strengthen them."

Schulman, who chairs the city's health committee, helped pass a slew of legislation to strengthen abortion protection in the city through the NYC Abortion Rights Act bill last year.

The council member is running against Ethan Felder, who lost a race for the Assembly last year, Sukhjinder Nijjar, and Danniel Maio.

Schulman has recently been endorsed by labor unions and pro-choice groups, as well as lawmakers including Rep. Grace Meng and Rep. Ritchie Torres.
