Forest Hills Lawyer Charged With Sharing Child Abuse Material: DA

John Magri​, a former FBI agent, was arrested for allegedly sharing child sexual abuse videos online, prosecutors said.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A former FBI Agent and lawyer from Forest Hills was arrested on Wednesday for sharing child sexual abuse videos online, prosecutors said.

John Magri, 57, was arrested after an investigation led police to search his home on Dartmouth Street and found computers and flash drives with videos of children six years old and younger, said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz

Magri could spend up to seven years in prison if convicted, and he is scheduled to come back to court on Aug. 14, Katz said.

The investigation into the online videos turned up more than 700 files from an IP address tied to Magri, the district attorney said.

Police arrived at Magri's home on June 21, and seized two laptops, a desktop computer, a hard drive, and a cell phone, prosecutors said.

Magri faces charges of promoting and possessing a sexual performance by a child, as well as obscenity, Katz said.
