Forest Hills Mom Murder: New Details Emerge, Reports Say

Orsolya Gaal was stabbed 58 times by her killer — a violent attack that suggests she may have known the assailant, according to reports.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — The killer of Forest Hills mom Orsolya Gaal remains at large, but gruesome new details have emerged about her confounding death, according to police.

Gaal, a 51-year-old mother of two, had been stabbed 58 times in her neck, torso and left arm, law enforcement sources told NBC New York. She also had wounds to her hands suggesting that she had tried to fend off the assailant, according to NBC.

Gaal's body was ultimately found inside a duffel bag about half a mile from her family's home, with a trail of blood leading back to the Juno Street residence, the New York Post reported.

Meanwhile, Gaal was reportedly seen inside her backyard earlier that day, before meeting friends that evening for a night out. Hours later, surveillance footage captured a "mysterious figure" dragging the duffel bag down the street.

Due to the "violent nature" of the crime and the lack of any break-in signs at the home, police believe the attack may have been personal, committed by someone who knew Gaal, according to the Post.

Gaal's husband, Howard Klein, was away from the city at the time — but received a message saying "Your whole family is next," PIX11 reported.
