FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — The Nov. 2 general election is rapidly approaching, but before you head to your polling place take a look at what will be on the ballot in Forest Hills.

Patch has rounded up everything residents of Forest Hills need to know ahead of voting, including details on local city council races, citywide elections, and five ballot measures.

The local race in Forest Hills

This year the only neighborhood-level race in Forest Hills is the City Council contest for District 29.

In the race, Democrat Lynn Schulman is facing GOP choice Michael Conigliaro in a district, which covers Forest Hills, Forest Park, Kew Gardens, Rego Park, and Richmond Hill. Read more about the race here.

Borough-wide and citywide races

Forest Hills voters will also have a Queens-wide race on their ballots: the election for Borough President.

In the BP race, incumbent Donovan Richards is running for re-election against GOP choice Thomas Zmich.

Meanwhile, the citywide races on the ballot will be for mayor, public advocate and comptroller.

Ballot propositions

In addition to local elections, New Yorkers will be asked to vote on five proposed amendments to the state constitution, governing redistricting, environmental rights, voting and civil court claims.
