Former Pizzeria Reopens as Burger Professor on Jewel Avenue

A kosher burger restaurant that once operated as a pizzeria has reopened on Jewel Avenue in Forest Hills.

The Burger Professor, located at 141-25 Jewel Ave., opened on Oct. 23.

The eatery had previously been known as the Pizza Professor, which had debuted in the community in 1999, changed ownership and closed twice.

Renee Roth, one of the Burger Professor’s partners, said the eatery no longer serves pizza, but offers burgers, fries, chicken tenders, spicy wings and soy milkshakes.

“We used to only do pizza, but now it’s a kosher restaurant, so we only do meat,” Roth said.

The Burger Professor is open and offers free delivery until 2 a.m. every night except Friday.
