Great American Songbook Show, Harvest Festival Highlight Week Ahead in Forest Hills

Friday

The Community House, located at 15 Borage Place in Forest Hills, is hosting a performance from The Great American Songbook, Chapter One at 8 p.m. Performers during the event will sing tunes by Cole Porter, Oscar Hammerstein and George Gershwin, among others.

Brian Woodruff's OKB Trio will perform jazz music at Flushing Town Hall, located at 137-35 Northern Blvd. at 8 p.m. The show is $15 for town hall members and $10 for students. 

Saturday

The 112th Precinct Community Council will host a Halloween-themed harvest festival at the playground of P.S. 144, located at 93-02 69th Ave. in Forest Hills, at 11 a.m. The event includes a child ID program, a rock climbing wall, bouncy house, games and a puppet show.

The Queens Botanical Garden, located at 43-50 Main St. in Flushing, will host a free event during which attendees learn the basics of soil structure, the importance of organic matter and other topics relevant to composting. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sunday

Saint Luke's Church, located at 85 Greenway South in Forest Hills, will host Wings of Song: An Afternoon of Chamber Music at 2 p.m.
