'High End' Sports Bar Opens In Forest Hills Ahead Of Super Bowl
The menu includes food crafted by a James Beard Foundation honoree and drinks other than beer (like home-made sangria).
FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A not-your-average spots bar opened in Forest Hills recently — just in time for the Super Bowl.
Roam, a self-described "high end sports bar" opened its doors at 70th Road and Austin Street on Feb. 5 and has kept partial hours since then.
The bar's regular hours — from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Wednesday and noon to 1 a.m. Thursday through Sunday — will go into effect on Friday, just in time for Super Bowl Sunday, QNS reported.

Manish Chadha, a Rego Park resident who co-owns Roam as well as three other Queens-based businesses, told the site that he's ready for the bar to become a "pillar in the Forest Hills community," operating like a "living room" for locals.
Indeed, there's room for 48 people to sit indoors at Roam, watch TV from one of the bar's 10 indoor screens, and order from the menu, which includes eight beers on tap, house-made sangria, and an array of specialty cocktails and wines, QNS reported. (If you'd rather sit outside there's 20 heated seats out back where you can still watch on one of three TVs.)

The food menu, created by James Beard Foundation honoree (and son of Queens), Sean Olnowich, is another element that helps set the bar apart from your average sports dive.
There's bar bites, like wings, salad, and hot pretzels, plus some less-expected bar fare, including calamari, veggie sandwiches, and flatbreads with truffle oil, according to QNS.
Patrons who come by on the day of the Super Bowl, on Sunday, Feb. 13, will benefit from one of Roam's many promotions — in honor of the game and opening weekend.
