FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A man was arrested Sunday on charges that he slashed a woman with a boxcutter in a Forest Hills bar, according to the police.

Police say Johnny Aponte, 32, attacked the woman inside Austin Public about 2:30 p.m.

The woman, 36, was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens hospital, according to police.

Aponte faces charges of assault, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the attack.

It's unclear whether the two knew each other, a police spokesperson said.

The owner of Austin Public, located at 70-28 Austin St., could not immediately be reached for comment.
