Man Riding Atop Van Hospitalized After Falling Off In Forest Hills: PD
The man was riding on the outside of a van but lost his grip and fell onto the street when the car's driver made a turn, police said.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A man riding on the outside of a van was critically injured over the weekend after losing his grip and falling off the vehicle in Forest Hills, police said.
The 32-year-old was clinging onto the outside of a Ford passenger van cruising down Metropolitan Avenue Sunday night, according to the NYPD.
The joyride took a more dangerous turn about 7:25 p.m., when the van's driver turned onto 71st Avenue and the van rider lost his grip, falling and smashing his head on the ground, police said.

First responders found the man lying on the street with head trauma, and rushed him to a nearby hospital in "critical condition," according to the NYPD.
The van driver, though, sped off along 71st Avenue and hasn't been seen since, police said.

No one has been arrested as of Monday morning and the investigation remains ongoing, according to the NYPD.
