Man Sought By Cops For Series Of Anti-Semitic Symbols In Forest Hills

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Police released images of a man suspected of vandalizing areas of Forest Hills and Rego Park with anti-Semitic symbols this week.

The alleged vandal was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and sneakers, police said Thursday night.

Patch first reported the incidents on Tuesday, when lawmakers expressed concern over two swastikas found in Forest Hills and Rego Park.

The man first etched the two symbols into the cement of the NYPD's 112th Precinct, which covers Forest Hills and Rego Park, at 68-40 Austin Street on March 18 about 3 p.m., police said.

On Monday, the vandal used an object to display two anti-Semitic illustrations in the cement at Stephen A. Halsey JHS 157 on 102nd St. about 9:20 p.m., authorities said.

Later that night, he drew the same symbol on a residential building located at 110-11 Queens Boulevard, the NYPD said.

The vandal etched another swastika on Tuesday about 9 a.m. into the cement in front of a residential building located at 112-20 72 Drive, police said.

Two more anti-Semitic symbols were drawn on Wednesday afternoon at a Synagogue located at 71-11 112 St. and another at a building located at 63-74 Austin Street, cops said.
