Man Tries To Rob Two Forest Hills Banks Within 10 Minutes, Police say

The banks were located just around the corner from each other.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A robber who failed to steal money from a Forest Hills bank successfully hit another just around the corner, police said.

The man first attempted to rob a Queens County Savings bank, located at 107-40 Queens Blvd., around 9:35 a.m. July 21, and passed a note to one of the bank tellers, demanding money, police said. The teller, who QNS.com reports was a 64-year-old woman, refused to comply, prompting the suspect to flee.

About 10 minutes later, he entered a Capital One branch at 107-18 71st Ave. and approached a 24-year-old, female bank teller, passing another note with the same demand. The teller complied and the robber fled with an unknown amount of cash, police said.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing beige shorts and a blue shirt.
