FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A new Mediterranean kosher restaurant is opening in Forest Hills in July, bringing kebabs, steaks, and veggie mixes to Queens Boulevard.

Sergey Rafailov, also known as Chef Rafaeli, is opening his restaurant Rafaelis Palace at 113-09 Queens Blvd. on July 15.

"I am the creator of new journeys for people," Rafaelov told Patch. "I'm giving them the love that I create in the kitchen."

Rafaeli was born in Uzbekistan and studied at the Netanhya Culinary Academy in Israel before moving to New York City, where he runs his catering services.

His specialty dishes include rice pilaf, salt-crusted chicken, Turkish eggplant salad, and more.
