FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — The MetroCard van is coming to Forest Hills this month.

State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo Jr. will bring the MTA's MetroCard Van to Forest Hills and Glendale on July 31 to give locals a way to buy and refill their cards.

The van parks outside Maspeth Federal Savings Bank at 101-09 Metropolitan Ave. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and in Glendale's Stop & Shop parking lots on Myrtle Avenue from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

MetroCard vans and buses regularly traverse the city to help New Yorkers buy and refill their cards, apply for reduced-fare cards and report lost or stolen cards; in Queens, limited access to subway stations means limited access to MetroCard vending machines.

A map on the MTA website shows delis, supermarkets and other businesses that sell MetroCards, which can be a lifeline for residents of so-called transit deserts.
