Mammography Van Returns To Forest Hills

Uninsured patients will not have to pay for a screening, according to Mount Sinai, which operates the van.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Mount Sinai's mammography van is returning to Forest Hills on Wednesday to provide low- to no-cost breast cancer screenings to qualifying women.

The Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps will host the mobile unit at 92-29 Metropolitan Ave. from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To obtain a screening, a patient must be 40 years old or older and have no symptoms of breast cancer or other breast disease.

Those who have had a mammogram in the past year will not qualify.

Patients are asked to bring a form of identification, copies of past mammograms and health insurance if applicable.

Anyone without insurance will not be charged for the screening, and patients will not be asked about their immigration status, a Mount Sinai Mobile Mammography spokesperson said.

Patients must call 844-396-2666 to preregister for a screening.
